HOT TECH: POPCORN
There are two ways to create a cinematic scene in a video game: either by working on each animation, element by element, or by filming the scene at 360° with actors, and then integrating them into the game. At Quantic Dream, this second solution is the one we go for: the actors are filmed on our Motion Capture set, then the Camera team chooses the angles and movements for the cutscene, to establish a staging that sticks to the script and the feeling of the Director. And to give life to these artistic choices, we have a piece of software: PopCorn, a virtual camera management program coupled with a video sequencer, entirely created in-house by our developers.
